My Weekend Excursion

The destination: Menzel 3 (aka the "ant nebula')
It took a freak long time to get there, but boy, was it worth it!

Here I am taking off in the shuttle. I had to take an Apollo series shuttle cause this was a low budge trip.

Finally, here I am walking in space at Menzel 3. I brought my fly swatter just in case it was fly season there, or even a single mosquito. I hate mosquitos.

I recomend going to Menzel 3 for your next long weekend. It's the place to be!

MAMMOTH '06 (Deserving of a mammoth post)

The group from left to right: Kevin, Minhthy, Mark, Emily and Bob

The Living Quarters: Minhthy has this really awesome friend who let us stay in his trailer for free! It's only about 25 minutes from the mountain. It even had it's own stove fireplace. A skier's dream getaway.

The Mountain: Mammoth holds true to its name, its...well, Mammoth. There is plenty of terrain to explore and mountain to share even with the biggest crowds. The tree skiing here is some some of the best there is and Mammoth also boasts some pretty extreme terrain. A little expensive on the hollidays, but well worth a trip out there.

We skied two hard days in a row. The first day I just packed in some Cliff Bars, a PB&J, a Chew bar (smores), and a Nature Valley bar in my jacket and didn't even stop for lunch. The snow was just too good. It had snowed and stormed all day Saturday and then was absolutely clear and sunny on Sunday and Monday. God really blessed us on this trip!

Some of us didn't learn our lessons from "Dumb and Dumber." And nice pic Em :0

After our hard day of skiing we warmed up the trailer with a blazing hot fire (making fires has got to be one of my favorite pastimes, but I swear those girls never get warm enough. It was probably almost 90 degrees in there at one point), ate a huge big meal Minhthy made and played some cards and worshiped God in song.

Bob, like a good dentist, made sure we all brushed our teeth real good. (But I didn't floss)

I am man. I make fire.

I also made a new friend on the trip, Luke.

The Mammoth trip was so much fun, I think we should make it an annual event. The only thing that would have made the trip a little better is if you could've come along. It was a perfect break from school, but now I best study. Best wishes to you all!

This Cowboy's Back Ain't Broke

For your amusement

Here are pictures of semi-truck trailers painted to look like their sides are missing, and to "display" the products they are hauling. The first one is of a bottle of beer. It looks so real, like it is coming out the side of the trailer.

This one is of an aquarium with fish swimming in it.

The third is of Pepsi cases and they are all stacked on the ceiling, and the bottom of the trailer is empty.

A Salute to RJ Henneberg

Our good friend and roomate of many years went off to Korea over break and found himself a wife! Well, almost a wife. He is currently engaged, but not just to the first woman he saw in Korea as you might expect, but a very special woman, Katie Meidinger! Whom we all know, love and respect. Way to go Jorge! Be sure to send him your sympathies.
